OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - To kick off the celebration, the Great Plains Black History Museum is hosting a Zoom event to teach the public about the seven principles of Kwanzaa.
Each afternoon from 1-2, participants will learn about how the principles apply to everyday life ranging from unity and self-determination to purpose.
"It was founded on the principles of being celebrated by African-Americans but these are principles by which anyone and everyone can practice to make themselves a better person," Eric Ewing, the Executive Director, said.
