OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A Creighton Prep spokesperson confirms 70 alumni members of the school signed a letter calling for the removal of Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine from its 20-member board of trustees. The letter was submitted to school leaders on Thursday.
Kleine is a 1970 graduate of Creighton Prep in Omaha and has been on the board since 2016.
He faced public criticism following his decision this week to bring no charges against downtown bar owner Jake Gardner in the shooting death of 22-year-old James Scurlock.
On Wednesday, Kleine said he will petition a grand juryto look at the evidence in the case.
