An Omaha daycare worker is facing charges for 1st degree sexual assault of a child. As of Friday, he is charged with one count but accused of having sexual contact with eight girls.
Mark Mays, 24, is being held on a $2 million bond.
The eight alleged victims range in age from 23 to 34 months old.
Omaha police say Mays worked at the Little Hands at Work and Play Daycare near 120th and Blondo from December 2015 to January 7, 2016. He also worked at La Petite Academy near 108th and Maple from May to August 2015.
Detectives with the Special Victims Unit have notified the families of all the alleged victims. They are not aware of any additional victims, however, their investigation continues.
It was revealed in court today that one alleged victim was a 2-year-old girl. Two co-workers reportedly walked in on Mays in the bathroom with the child partially naked on his lap.
On Thursday prosecutors say he admitted to penetrating the victim. He also reportedly admitted to having child pornography on his cell phone.
