OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — We’re recognizing Black History Month at KMTV and one goal is to help those who are kids now, work for a better future using lessons learned from the past.

On Monday morning, 3 News Now reporter Kent Luetzen spoke Donna Vaughn, the coordinator of the 2021 Black History Month art contest.

K-12 Nebraska students are encouraged to submit their art in any medium.

Students can drop their work off at the Omaha Star Newspaper at 2216 N 24th St. in Omaha.

Twelve winners will be selected and awarded a monetary prize. The deadline is March 9.
