MALVERN, Iowa (KMTV) — Residents of the Cedar Hills neighborhood in Malvern, Iowa are making life easier for neighboring communities hit hard by flooding.
About a half dozen homes have agreed to serve as a laundry drop off, they have a blue porch light.
Others are allowing people to refill their water jugs and have lit a green porch light.
Living in the Midwest, that’s what we do,” Dave Meyer said. “There are people that have lost everything. If we can just offer water and clean clothes just to give them a smile on their face it’s worth it.”
Each home in Cedar Hills has their own well, so the water is safe to drink, and isn’t impacted by the boil and conservation orders in nearby areas.
