OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The man convicted of murdering Peru State College student Ty Thomas could find out today just how long he'll stay in prison. A sentencing hearing for Joshua Keadle is scheduled for this afternoon in Gage County.
The judge is also scheduled to hear a defense motion for a new trial today. Both hearings were originally set in April, then May.
In February, a jury found Keadle guilty of second-degree murder.
19-year-old Ty Thomas disappeared in December of 2010. Investigators still have not found her body.
Keadle, who's currently serving a 15 to 20 year sentence for sexual assault in another case, faces 20 years to life in prison.
