A man has died after he was found by firefighters during an apartment fire Thursday evening.
The name of the victim has not been released yet. Fire officials say the man was found after firefighters put out a fire contained to the closet and living room of an apartment in a building near 39th and Dodge streets.
Firefighters were called around 6:15 p.m. The fire was declared under control about 20 minutes later.
Fire officials say they are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. The Omaha Police Department’s homicide unit is also investigating the man’s death.
