Two men are accused of faking a robbery at Mockingbird Lanes overnight Tuesday.

The Omaha Police Department says Adam Norton and James Reck, both 21 years old, conspired to steal money from the bowling alley and make it look like a robbery.

They say Norton reported a man pointed a gun at him as he was leaving for the night and forced him back inside, make him take off his clothes and open the safe.

But investigators say inconsistencies in his story made them suspicious, and they discovered he and an accomplice, James Reck, stole the money.

Norton faces charges of felony theft over $5,000, criminal conspiracy and false reporting.  Reck faces charges of felony theft over $5,000 and criminal conspiracy, along with an additional charge of theft under $500 for an unrelated crime.
