Police have identified a suspect in a deadly shooting tied with a high-profile trial.

The Omaha Police Department says an arrest warrant has been issued for Bernard Turner Jr., 20, for the shooting of 22-year-old Jarrell Haynes on Wednesday, March 2.

“Turner has been described as having a tear drop tattoo below his right eye and a cross tattoo on his left cheek,” police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
Investigators previously arrested 26-year-old Secretia Benton as an accessory to a felony in Haynes’ death.

Haynes was shot and killed a short time after he got into an altercation with someone in the entry area of the Douglas County Courthouse where he tried to attend the trial of Charles Trotter, but was turned away because he didn't have the right identification.
