Academy Award winning actor Matt Damon is in Omaha to film, "Downsizing." Omaha native Alexander Payne is directing the film. Payne is also in town.
Tonight we caught up with Damon at 48th and Douglas. He told us he had a "real good" piece of pizza at Zio's.
This is his first time spending time in Omaha. He said, "I've only driven through, you know I've driven across the country a bunch of times going from Boston to L.A. as a young actor. And always passed through but never hung out so looking forward to seeing what the town is all about."
Crews will be filming at 48th and Douglas. The will also shoot at La Casa Pizzeria on Leavenworth and at Creighton Prep on Wednesday afternoon.
"Downsizing" is scheduled for release in 2017.
