In the first debate since the Mayoral Primary last week, Mayor Jean Stothert will look to show Omaha has improved significantly since she took office 4 years ago.

Tonight, the Incumbent Mayor Stothert and Challenger Heath Mello will debate live on 3 News Now at 6pm.  It will also be streamed online at www.3newsnow.com

In 2013, Stothert defeated a number of Omaha political heavyweights in the primary before going on to beat Incumbent Jim Suttle in the general election.

Heath Mello is running an ad that says Omaha is doing "ok," but Mayor Stothert explains that it truly an understatement.

During her first term in office, Mayor Stothert touts how she's turned budget deficits into surpluses, created jobs, cut property taxes, and made the city safer.

"We’re still very positive, we’re very confident and we won’t take anything for granted.  We will be in every neighborhood all over the city.  In the next four weeks reaching out to all voters Democrats, Republicans, and Independents," Mayor Stothert explained.

Stothert received two endorsements from Primary Challengers Taylor Royal, and Christopher Geary.
