Metro riders adjust to new bus routes

Posted

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Omaha Metro is celebrating Public Transit Week. The transportation service provider is also in the process of reviewing ridership numbers since it over hauled bus routes in 2015.
It moved some bus lines to provide more service to busier areas and extended hours for some routes.
“We'll really know what’s happening when we get into June and start comparing month to month,” said Linda Barritt, Metro Marketing Director. “Things are going really well the comments from the public, the ridership is holding its own,” she added.
As part of Public Transit Week, Metro will surprise some bus riders with free fare windows on buses.
