As the Omaha-metro area braced for triple-digit temps Friday, more than 1,200 Omaha Public Power District customers lost power around 3 p.m.

According to OPPD's website, 1,273 customers — most in Millard and other areas of West Omaha — were without electricity. Additionally, 10 customers in Sarpy County were reportedly also without power.

OPPD customers were urged to report outages via the power company's website; by calling 1-800-554-6773; or via the OPPDconnect app.

Friday's outage comes just a day after 2,000 in North Omaha were without power for about two hours due to equipment failure.
