Motorcyclist killed in crash Friday morning

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police say a 31-year-old motorcyclist died Friday morning in a crash at the I-480 S and JFK on-ramp the day before his birthday.

Investigation showed a 1982 Yamaha motorcycle had slowed for traffic when it was hit from behind by a 2013 Fiat 500 around 7:50 a.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as 31-year-old Michael Cocoran, was transported to Nebraska Medicine with life-saving measures in progress by Omaha Fire.

Cocoran died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The driver of the Fiatt was identified as 55-year-old Brenda Berger.

Berger was uninjured and charges are pending against her.

The crash remains under investigation.
