Nebraska to ban pornography in prisons beginning in January

Posted

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) - The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has banned all pornograhpic books, magazines and drawings, beginning in January of 2018.

State prison inmates are currently able to subscribe to adult magazines, but can have them revoked if those magazines show violence or illegal sexual activity.

The Corrections Department announced the ban to inmates last week and has defined pornography as "depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement."

In some states, pornography bans and restrictions have lead to lawsuits over First Amendment rights.
