OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — When Hurricane Irma Hit Florida in 2017, Nebraskans and Iowans answered the call for relief. This afternoon, Task Force 1 said they're gearing up to do so once again.
According to a release from Task Force 1, they received the call to help just after 1 a.m. this afternoon.
They say, "At this time, our deployment will be as a water rescue specific asset, not a full team activation."
Members from the following first-responder organizations are set to deploy:
- One member of the Council Bluffs, IA Fire Department
- Eight members of Lincoln, NE Fire & Rescue
- Five members of the Omaha Fire Department
