OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A new glass recycling collection site has been set-up in the parking lot of Super Saver near 144th & Millard Avenue. The new, bright purple container is the community's tenth glass recycling site.

In 2017, Keep Omaha Beautiful partnered with the City of Omaha and Ripple Glass to help make glass recycling more accessible throughout the community.

Last year, the project took in 3.3 million pounds of glass.

Instead of going to the landfill, the glass is shipped to Ripple Glass in Kansas City where it is converted into new bottles and jars as well as fiberglass insulation.
