OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — One holiday is now in the books and another is just days away but the downtown New Year's Eve celebration will have extra meaning Monday night.
Fireworks and crowds will fill Gene Leahy Mall on New Year's Eve. It will be the last one before the area closes for renovations.The fireworks will continue at a different location in years to come.

This year, it will include hundreds of cues and 80 large shells and last about 13 minutes. The fireworks begin at 7 p.m. and serves as the end of the Holiday Lights Festival.
