OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) is working on returning an abandoned military vehicle to the South Dakota National Guard after it was found on an interstate ramp in western Nebraska.

On Thursday, NSP says the vehicle, which is used in engineering operations, was found on an Interstate 80 ramp near Overton.

NSP says it learned the vehicle was abandoned sometime on Wednesday by a trucking company driver who was contracted to move it for the South Dakota National Guard.

The vehicle was being transported back to South Dakota after a training session in California.

NSP is trying to locate the driver who abandoned it.
