Omaha city crews work to clear roads

Posted

While Omaha city crews were busy clearing roads, drivers used extra caution to get around.

City officials canceled a snow emergency and the parking restrictions it came with amid lower-than-expected snow accumulations.

Despite that, some drivers had trouble getting to their destinations trouble-free.

"I'd like to get out of it as fast as I can," said one driver visiting Omaha from San Francisco.

Crews started preparing for the winter storm on Sunday, according to the city. They pretreated major and secondary streets with brine, followed by residential streets.

About 200 plows were expected to hit the streets once the snow began falling.
