Saturday was National Thank a Police Officer Day.
Embrace Blue is encouraging everyone to thank officers today and throughout September.
Schools, churches, and families are asked to draw pictures or write handwritten notes thanking and encouraging their local police.
OPD officials say All cards and letters will be dispersed among officers in the Department by Embrace Blue.
No foul language or negative notes or cards will be allowed.
