Omaha food truck app to launch next week

Posted

A new app to help potential customers find food trucks in Omaha is set to launch next week.

The Omaha Food Truck Association first dreamed up the app, "OFTA Eat," two years ago, around the time of the law change to allow the trucks to operate on Omaha streets.

A few tweaks later, the app is expected to be unveiled next week, according to OFTA president Kelly Keegan.

"It's going to be a game-changer for the city and for the consumers," Keegan said.

The app uses a map to show where the food trucks are at any given time, with links to menus and social media. More than 30 food trucks will participate.
