A local Donald Trump supporter wanted to show he is behind the republican nominee after protesters bashed the GOP candidate with graffiti on the I-80 silos.
When Trump came to visit Omaha in May, “Dump Trump” was spray painted onto Richard Brock’s silos.
“I was charged with the task of going to the top of the silos and painting over dump trump,” said Brock.
He said he wasn’t happy and the graffiti sat there for two weeks.
“That wasn't my view, it wasn't my opinion on the whole thing, and I was a little upset that somebody had taken it upon themselves to go be criminals and go vandalize my property.”
So, he made his own trump sign by mowing “Trump” into his land. The letters sit on the side of his hill, and they are 90 feet tall and 75 feet wide.
To keep the sign visible, Brock trims the letters at least once a week, it takes about 30 minutes to get h the whole thing done.
So far reaction has been mixed.
“Most of my neighbors are of like mind, but there are some that aren't and that is fine, everybody has an opinion but I think everybody gets a chuckle out of it,” he said.
Brock is a Trump supporter because of his tax and national security plan, and he thinks trump will protect our borders.
So when you drive on highway 75 on the way to Ft. Calhoun or fly into Omaha, it's easy to see Brock's support for the GOP candidate.
“It’s just one opinion, everybody's got one and right, wrong, or indifferent, we don't always agree on things, but i don't think it's right to go vandalize somebody else's property to put my message out there, so I vandalized my own property.”
Brock said he will see how the election goes and if Trump wins, the sign may stay until next Spring.
