After enjoying about a little more than a week of beautiful spring weather, the Omaha-metro area braced for its first bout of severe weather, projected to roll into the area late Tuesday afternoon, but it never made it to the Metro, instead staying West.
Storms fired up out west and severe thunderstorm warnings came as close as Fremont and Blair, but never threatened the metro.
Ahead of the anticipated storms, agencies tweeted safety information.

While no one hopes severe weather hits, area farmers say precipitation would be welcome, despite the short time they've been able to be in the field so far this spring.
