Man treated, booked in connection to shooting, crash at 30th and Hamilton

Omaha Police say their officers responded to a shots fired call  in the 3200 block of  N. 39th Street.

According to OPD, they responded to the call at around 4:36 p.m. 

Witnesses told officers  that a man was driving a red car when had been shot at while in the driveway located in the 3200 block of  N. 39th Street.

OPD officials say after the suspect vehicle fled the area, the victim pulled out of the driveway and later was involved in a accident with a school bus at 30th and Hamilton Street.

The victim of the shooting was then transported to Creighton Hospital with non life threatening injuries from the shooting.

OPD officials say the victim was treated and released from the hospital, then booked into Douglas County Corrections for traffic violations related to the accident and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.

The man has been identified as 25-year-old  Jestun Haynie. 

No children were injured in the accident.
