The Omaha Police Department is getting its body cameras from a company that is supplying law enforcement agencies around the country.
TASER International announced Thursday it was providing 115 Axon Flex cameras to the Omaha Police Department, along with five years of a digital evidence management system service called Evidence.com.
The company, which is known for its stun gun, is also providing body camera equipment to police departments in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and more.
On Dec. 15, the Omaha City Council approved a measure to purchase the cameras for $733,085.21.
TASER International says orders submitted between October and December of last year were already shipped or will be shipped before March.
