Omaha residents got the chance to chat with police officers over a cup of coffee.
The Omaha Police Department hosted a “Coffee with a Cop” community gathering at the Dunkin Donuts inside Do Space on 72nd and Dodge.
Police say the event builds relationships with the community, allowing people to talk about issues in an informal setting.
More events are planned for this week. Officers in the Southeast Precinct will be at the McDonald's on 42nd and D streets on Friday. They will host a "Coffee with a Cop" starting at 8 a.m. and be back at 6 p.m. the same day for a "Pop with a Cop" event.
