Omaha Police investigate Sunday homicide

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

At 1:51 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a crash at N 60th Ave and NW Radial Hwy.

Officers located a victim, 41-year-old Obdoo Walker, inside a car upon arrival suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. Medics declared Walker deceased.

A few minutes later, a shooting call came in at 6140 Bedford Ave, according to police.

Authorities located a victim, 43-year-old Jamar McCowin, on a porch suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

McCowin said he had also been in the car at N 60th and NW Radial Hwy and ran from the car after the crash. He was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Tips leading to an arrest are eligible for up to a $25,000 reward.
