Read the statement below.

The Omaha Police Department has been made aware of recent social media posts about the number of missing juveniles within the Omaha community. We are not currently aware of any recent missings or runaways that are missing under suspicious circumstances. As we have in the past, we will continue to solicit the assistance of the community in those rare instances where we do have endangered or suspicious circumstances.

The OPD has a dedicated Missing Persons Squad made up of two seasoned investigators and a Sergeant that investigates all reported cases of missing and runaway persons.

The Special Investigations Section has collaborated with Project Harmony and has created a Missing Youth Services Program designed to provide counseling, mental health therapy, and other services to families of runaway youth.

The Police Department urges anyone who has a missing or runaway loved ones to contact the police and report them as missing so that a report can be made and forwarded to a detective. The police should be notified as soon as they are noticed to be missing. We also ask that you contact the police if you know the whereabouts of a missing/runaway.
