At first, it might seem like a typical field trip.

Elementary school aged kids, sitting, watching a concert.

But this new program, developed by Carnegie Hall brought to Omaha schools by Omaha Performing Arts is all about interactive learning.

This concert is the culmination of a semester of work.

It started with teachers learning songs and dances.

Then, teaching them to their students. Three Omaha public schools, Harrison, Walnut Hill, and Gilder Elementary were pilots for this year's Carnegie Hall Program.

At the concert, three local musical groups sang and danced, and performed the songs the students learned.

For these educators, their favorite part was seeing the student engagement and the success the program. One they'll take into more schools next year.
