An Omaha teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old former student.
Police say Brian Robeson, 35, was arrested Tuesday to face charges of two counts of sexual assault of a juvenile.
Investigators say they interviewed Robeson, who teaches at Alfonza W. Davis Middle School, Tuesday following a tip received the day before that accused him of having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.
Officers also interviewed the victim and her parents, according to the Omaha Police Department, before taking him into custody.
The Omaha Public Schools District released the following statement:
"We expect our staff members to be professional, ethical, and appropriate in all of their interactions with students, colleagues and community members. We will not tolerate any conduct that is inappropriate and unbecoming of a staff member. We are saddened and deeply disappointed by the allegations against Mr. Robeson. The details of this matter are confidential as required by law, but Omaha Public Schools takes any concerns and complaints regarding the conduct of our employees seriously. Mr. Robeson is no longer employed by Omaha Public Schools.'
