Omaha PD officials say a motorcyclist was injured and another driver was cited in a crash that took place in Downtown Omaha Monday afternoon.

According to OPD, at around 4:48 p.m., they responded to 9th and Leavenworth St for a personal injury crash involving a motorcycle.

OPD officials said that the investigation revealed that a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving eastbound on Leavenworth St when it attempted to make a left turn onto 9th St and collided with a westbound 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Officials identified the motorcyclist  as 40-year-old Michael A Cuadrado.

Authorities say the driver of the jeep, 23-year-old Ryan T Overhue was not injured and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

OPD said that  Cuadrado is being treated for two fractured arms, a fractured leg and facial injuries.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Cuadrado was transported to CHI Creighton by OFD medics with serious non-life threatening injuries.

Officials so not believe speed and alcohol were  factors in this crash.
