The Omaha Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting after a suspect in a stolen car rammed police cruisers near 19th and Q Saturday evening.

The incident began around 6 p.m. when Douglas County 911 received an anonymous tip that two men in a stolen silver Durango were planning to rob the GI Forum near 20th and Q streets.

Officers responded with the gang unit and a confrontation began with the suspects. Body camera footage and dash cam video recorded the incident.

The officers got out of their cruisers and could be heard telling the suspects to "stop." In an effort to escape, the driver can be seen on video revving the Durango's engine and backing into two cruisers.

The driver then pulls forward and reverses again, ramming into the police cruisers for a second time.

Two officers fired at the suspect. Three people inside the Durango were put in handcuffs and taken into custody.

The driver is identified as 26-year-old Jacob Osbon. He was shot by officers and is being treated at Nebraska Med. He will be booked into jail on his release on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of felony destruction of property.

The other two passengers were treated for injuries from flying debris in the Durango.

At this time, there are no charges against the two passengers.
