OPD to collect fireworks, guns for amnesty day

Once the celebrations end, many people wonder what to do with leftovers ?

The Omaha police department will host a fireworks and gun amnesty day on Saturday July 9th.

The event can take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m. 

Anyone can get rid of fireworks guns and any other explosives no questions asked.

Anyone can drop an item at these three drop off sites 

  • Omaha Fire Station #43, 5505 North 103rd Street
  • Seymour Smith Park, 72nd and Harrison Street
  • Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, 1400 Big Lake Road, Council Bluffs, west parking lot
