UPDATE: Power restored after crash causes outage

The Omaha Public Power District says crews fixed a power outage that impacted more than 3,000 customers at one point.

OPPD says a delivery truck crashed into a switch gear at 72nd and Valley Road.

Areas without power initically included:

  • Parkview Blvd. (north) to CornHusker Rd. (south), 64th St. (east) to Edgewood Dr. (west)
  • Harrison St. (north) to Cary St. (south), 64th St. (east) to 84th St. (west)

OPPD said in a 4:45 p.m. update power was back for some.

"Crews have restored power to one of two impacted circuits, bringing the lights back on for 1,279 customers."

The remaining customers without power were in the following area:

  • Harrison St. (north) to Cary St. (south), 64th St. (east) to 84th St. (west)

At about 5:45 p.m., OPPD says power was restored to all customers.
