The Omaha Public School district is restarting the search for a new superintendent after last year's search failed.
A new search firm has been hired to recruit and vet candidates and board members will meet Jan. 14 to review applications and plan to name finalists at its Jan. 22 meeting.
Within the next month, the OPS board says it will try to name a new superintendent to run the state's largest school district.
Superintendent Mark Evans delayed his retirement after last year's search fell apart.
