PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) — Some outdoor parks in Papillion have outdoor workout areas, and most importantly, they are free to use.
Halleck Park in Papillion offers free workout areas for those looking to soak in some sun while working out.
"It is great for anybody who wants to get a workout in," said Trenton Albers, communications manager for the City of Papillion. "Just come to the park and use equipment. There is something for everyone. We have simple stuff and some stuff where you can challenge yourself, it depends on your fitness ability."
The equipment comes with instructions and even pictures to show you how to do each workout so you don't hurt yourself.
The equipment is for adults as well as kids.
"Its really nice," 11-year-old Carson Kelly said. "It's an open area, for stuff like these during the pandemic that a lot of people could still social distance while doing their workout while gyms might still be closed, but they might also be really expensive too."
People walking buy often stop by and get a quick workout in.
There is equipment for the upper body as well as the lower body to give you a full workout.
And if you do love the outdoors, Halleck Park offers baseball fields, soccer areas as well as tennis courts and sand volleyball. You can take a leisure walk with the family, go fishing or even bike ride.
When it rains, you can't use this wonderful equipment, but to avoid paying those gym fees, you can click your remote at home and pull up free workout programs from your smart TV, everything from yoga to high intensity workouts and even energizing dance classes.
Papillion also has free outdoor workout areas at Prairie Queen Recreation Area as well Hunters Park.
