Expect some big changes if you fly in and out of Eppley Airfield.
Starting Thursday at 9 a.m., the Surface Lot and Canopy lot public parking areas will close for construction of a new six-story, 3,000 vehicle parking garage. The new parking garage will be built north of the existing parking garage where the current Surface lot and rental car facilities are located.
The new parking garage will have rental car operations on the first two levels, with public parking on levels three through six. A new car rental customer service center will be built next to the new garage.
Construction of the new garage is expected to begin in May and last two years. Rental car operations will temporarily move to the Canopy Lot south of the terminal, which will be closed to public parking. There will be a free shuttle service from the rental car lot to the terminal.
