The Douglas County Sheriff arrest a man after an attack on a hotel clerk, west of Village Point at the Home 2 Hotel near 180th and Dodge in West Omaha earlier this week.
Deputies arrested Zachary Person, 29, at his mother's home where detectives say they found multiple items of evidence linking him to the assault.
Due to the person's escalating behavior, the Douglas County Sheriff, Tim Dunning says it was an arrest they needed to make fast.
"Investigators worked closely with detectives from Vermillion sd, Sioux City Iowa police department in Fremont police department and Dodge county Sheriff office, repeat defender in multiple jurisdictions," said Dunning.
Deputies believe Person is responsible for multiple sexual assault cases in several states.
Sheriff Dunning says Person is the suspect in the attempted sexual assault of a clerk at the Home 2 Hotel in West Omaha early Wednesday, and a similar attack the same day in Sioux City.
"The suspect vehicle and description for identical the Sioux City PD was able to add a crucial plate number to the investigation investigators were able to take a partial plate number and develop a sequence of numbers and develops a sequence of letters and numbers and match the suspect vehicle," said Dunning.
Dunning also says Person has been on police radar since 2007 for similar attacks on women.
"Attacks on females joggers, students and gas station works between 2007-2017," said Dunning.
"Douglas county investigators worked closely with members of the Norfolk police dept to arrest him at his mother's home just 41 hours after the investigation began at the hotel."
