Police are still investigating an early morning murder in Benson Gardens.
Officers got a call around seven Wednesday morning.
Then found a man shot to death in a yard near 80th and Blondo.
Police identified the victim as 32 year old Ronnie Devers.
Neighbors say waking up to find out a person was murdered near their home was a scary feeling.
"I think I want to leave, I do want to leave this apartment complex," said Williams Winnifield Jr.
After nearly a decade living in this neighborhood Winnifield says today's shooting has him thinking twice.
"This neighborhood is really not that bad, haven't been bad, but it's getting worse," Winnifield said.
Winnifield says this complex does have its issues but he can't recall anything as bad as what took place today.
"If you aren’t comfortable or use to being around that kind of environment you will probably be uncomfortable," Winnifield said.
Rhett Noland is new here, he says he heard firework sounds early this morning but went on with his day.
"I thought nothing of it, I shrugged it off,” said Rhett Noland.
“I went to work this morning came back and there's like 8 or 9 cop cars out here, asked a neighbor what happened and they said they found a body," Noland continued.
Coming from a small town in Missouri Noland says he also is considering living elsewhere because he doesn't want to be the next target.
"I didn't think it was that bad, I did not,” Noland said.
“I mean people argue out here but I thought that was about as worse it could get," Noland continued.
One neighbor says this is a close knit neighborhood and he thinks it may be newcomers who are starting up drama.
