Suspect arrested, victim ID'd in shooting on 90th and Maple

Omaha Police has arrested a person and identified the victim in a shooting that took place at 90th and Maple Friday evening.

At around 6:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to the American National Bank for a shooting.

OPD located the victim in a nearby parking lot, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

But OPD officials say he is currently in stable condition.

Authorities say multiple witnesses were located and were interviewed. 

On Saturday, OPD  identified the victim as 31-year-old Joseph Aburumuh.

The suspect was later arrested and has been identified as 32-year-old Shanieka Smith.

OPD says Smith was booked for First Degree Felony Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony (Gun), and Discharging a Firearm near a Vehicle/Building.
