Omaha police officers and northeast Omaha residents got a chance to connect over coffee Wednesday morning.

The northeast precinct held a public outreach event called Coffee with a Cop at the McDonald's at 30th Street and Ames Avenue.

"The purpose of the event is just to get the officers to come at a neutral setting and interact with the people in the community, answer questions, shop talk. We had some guys over there talking about the Cowboys and football," said Stacy Westbrook, the community liaison for the northeast precinct

Residents were also able to talk about neighborhood issues and concerns.
