The Council Bluffs Police Department is reporting a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen from Harrah's Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino parking garage.
The $75,000 custom Harley Davidson was taken around 6:30 Thursday morning, according to the Council Bluffs Police Department. The bike is also finished with a red, white and blue paint job. Owner Len Edmondson says that's what makes it unique. He also saw surveillance video from the garage before leaving town.
"The guy was kind of incompetent type rider and he almost wiped out twice coming out of the hotel," Edmondson said. "By the time I get it back, it's going to be beaten up."
This motorcycle has Alberta tags with the license number YO6511.
"I've had this bike since day one and I did a rebuild on it for a tribute for this charity ride, and it gets stolen," Edmondson said.
The Canada-native is on the Ride to the 78th for the Bikers Against Bullies charity. It starts in South Carolina and ends in South Dakota. On today's trip, he rode along in the chase car, getting to his stop in Mitchell, South Dakota. He;s not too worried about never seeing his motorbike again. Serial numbers should keep the thief from selling any parts.
"That's the sad part," Edmondson said. "Whatever he thought he was going to be able to use it for--the frame's got a serial number and the motor's got a serial number, so if they use it in any other builds and they try to register it, they're going to get caught."
