A northwest Omaha road that has been closed since August rains made it dangerous will soon be back open.
Omaha Mayor Jean Stother says 108th Street, between Blondo and Dodge streets, will reopen on Wednesday.
“This project has been on the fast track since the summer when heavy rain caused severe damage to the road, requiring emergency repairs. Many thanks to all involved for getting this work completed ahead of schedule,” Stothert wrote in a Facebook update Monday.
The section of road was closed after a sinkhole caused by heavy rain washed away the shoulder in August.
Neighbors said some drivers cut through the nearby park to get through.
