After no winners in Saturday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot continues to climb.
The estimated jackpot Monday morning was $1.3 billion, but in increased by mid-morning to $1.4 billion. Lottery officials say the billion-dollar amount is causing some issues.
Billboards can only show up to $999 million. Also, the message at the bottom of tickets sold in Iowa is programmed to show millions of dollars.
"It currently states that the next Powerball jackpot is $1,300 million. Tat technically is correct, but the lottery is investigating whether the message can be changed to reflect an amount in the billions of dollars," Iowa Lottery officials said.
Saturday's drawing did produce four $50,000 winning tickets in Nebraska. Two were sold in Omaha, one in North Platte and another in Kearney.
A ticket matching the first five numbers, but not the Powerball was sold in Sioux City at the Hy-Vee on Gordon Drive. Three other tickets worth $50,000 were sold in Iowa.
