Raymond school teacher faces multiple child porn felonies

RAYMOND, Neb. (KMTV) — A Raymond Public Schools teacher has been arrested for alleged child pornography charges.

Jeffrey Nelson, who had taught at Raymond Central Public Schools as of several weeks ago, has been removed from his position with the school and “will not return” according to a release from the district.

The district said it has been working with law enforcement to help with their investigation and to “ensure student safety.” It plans to make counselors available to students and take additional steps to help them process the situation.

According to court documents, Nelson faces the following charges:

  • Visual depict/sex explicit conduct-19+ ; Class 1D Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony
  • Possess child pornography-age 19 & over ; Class 2A Felony

He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 18 in Saunders County. Bond has been set at 10% of $250,000.
