Registration opened Tuesday for the 2018 Kerrie Orozco Memorial event slated for September in Council Bluffs.
Sunday, Sept. 16 will be packed with outdoor events at Wabash Trace Trail in Council Bluffs:
- 7:30 a.m. – The memorial kicks off with a bike ride
- 8 a.m. – Memorial 5K begins
- 8 a.m. – Co-ed softball tournament
- 8:30 a.m. – One-mile walk
Registration for the events runs from $25-$35; softball team registration will cost $250.
There will be awards for the 5K for age group, overall and a masters award. Winners will be awarded a special "KerrieOn" challenge coin and holder.

Omaha Police Officer Orozco was killed in the line of duty May 20, 2015.
