OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Douglas County announced more details about the county's use of federal funds to provide relief to renters on Friday.
County officials urged renters to prepare all documents needed for the application before the website begins accepting applications on July 27.
Douglas County residents who have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus can apply if their household income is less than the area's median income, their name is on the lease, and they are a legal resident.
If for some reason a landlord doesn't want to participate, the tenant is out of luck. For an application to be approved, landlords must assist their tenants in the process by confirming rent is owed and submitting a complete W-9. Landlords must certify that they will not evict the tenant for the unpaid rent.

Douglas County officials are referencing people without internet access to five local nonprofits for assistance.
