Troopers with Nebraska State Patrol arrested a Sheridan County Sheriff's deputy on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Chris Henry is accused of physically abusing a child in an incident that happened June 12.
The deputy is accused of strangling the child, who was taken to an area hospital and now appears to be in good health.
Henry was booked into the Dawes County Jail in Chadron.
