OMAHA, Neb. — The week of Thanksgiving has some of the busiest travel days of the year. Eppley Airfield in Omaha is no exception. Eppley Airfield anticipates 16,000 passengers flying in and out of the airport Wednesday and over 17,000 passengers this Sunday. On average, Eppley Airfield sees around 14,000 passengers a day.

People are flying all over the country to meet up with their loved ones. Las Vegas, Chicago, even Italy!

Some people at the airport had high spirits and didn't mind the wave of people. Because after all the flying, comes the food. For many travelers, it's hard to pick their favorites.

"So many good ones! I would specifically say the turkey, I meant the chicken but I usually only like chicken if it's chicken nuggets or lunch meat chicken," one young traveler at the airport said.

There has been a number of weather delays across the country that have disrupted travel, especially for Omaha resident Odie Brown. Odie's flight to Las Vegas was delayed nine hours from his 11am flight being pushed to around 8pm. His plans of flying to Vegas and then driving out to California to visit his kids for Thanksgiving are delayed to say the least.

"First I was excited, but now I'm very, I'm kind of down. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to go and visit my kids and now it might not happen," he said.
